SwimSafer Stage 6 Gold Test Sequence
Discover the comprehensive SwimSafer Stage 6 Gold test sequence, designed to assess fundamental water skills. Our guide provides insights into the SwimSafer program, its stage 6 Gold evaluation process, and essential swimming techniques. Prepare effectively for the SwimSafer Stage 6 Gold test with expert tips and insights.
Swim (use standing dive for FR, BR):
1. 100m front crawl (within 3:00 min)
2. 100m breaststroke (within 4:00 min)
3. 100 m backstroke (within 3:20 min)
4. 50m survival backstroke
5. 50m sidestroke
6. 15m butterfly
Gold Sequence (w/o goggles).
1. Perform the following sequence:
2. Enter deep water using a compact jump
3. Perform a head-first surface dive to a depth of at least 1.8m (and perform ear equalisation, if necessary)
4. Swim through hoops on pool bottom for 5m and resurface
5. Swim 45m quickly using front crawl
6. Then, swim slowly for a further 50m using any preferred survival swim stroke
7. Then, remove pants in deep water and make a float with it while treading water within 5 min
8. Demonstrate Heat Escape Lessening Posture (H.E.L.P.) technique with the self-made float for 1 min
9. Then swim 25m with the self-made float and climb out of the water

SwimSafer Stage 6 Gold in Singapore
SwimSafer Stage 6 Gold is part of SwimSafer 2.0, Singapore’s national water-safety programme. The official programme has six progressive stages designed to build swimming proficiency, survival skills and safer decision-making around aquatic environments.
What SwimSafer Stage 6 Gold develops
This stage focuses on efficient stroke work over 400 metres, clothing-based flotation, putting on a life jacket in water and the Heat Escape Lessening Posture. Use the detailed skill sequence on this page as a preparation guide, while following the current instructions of an accredited SwimSafer instructor and assessor.
Assessment and e-certificate
Sport Singapore states that successful completion of the relevant online theory quiz and practical assessment is required for an e-certificate. Assessment readiness must be validated by an accredited SwimSafer instructor; participants should not be registered before they can safely perform the required competencies.
How to register
Primary-school participants can ask their school about its SwimSafer arrangements. Families may also register privately through a SportSG-accredited SwimSafer instructor. Registration route, lesson schedule, assessment venue and fees can differ by provider.
