SwimSafer Stage 5 Silver Test Sequence
Discover the comprehensive SwimSafer Stage 5 Silver test sequence, designed to assess fundamental water skills. Swim (use crouching dive entry for FR, BR):
1. 50m front crawl (within 1:30 min)
2. 50m breaststroke (within 1:50 min)
3. 50m backstroke (within 1:40 min)
4. 25m sidestroke
5. 25m survival backstroke
6. Dolphin kick 10m on front
Silver Sequence (w/o goggles)
1. Enter deep water using a straddle jump
2. Perform a backward somersault Submerge using feet first surface dive,
3. Swim through hoops on pool ottom for 3m and resurface
4. Swim 45m quickly using front crawl
5. Wave and call for help (rescuer to throw PFD)
6. Retrieve a PFD in water and fit it while treading water
7. Demonstrate Heat Escape Lessening Posture (H.E.L.P.) technique for 30 sec
8. Then swim 25m with PFD and climb out of the water

SwimSafer Stage 5 Silver in Singapore
SwimSafer Stage 5 Silver is part of SwimSafer 2.0, Singapore’s national water-safety programme. The official programme has six progressive stages designed to build swimming proficiency, survival skills and safer decision-making around aquatic environments.
What SwimSafer Stage 5 Silver develops
This stage focuses on diving fundamentals, personal survival in a sinking-boat scenario and efficient stroke work over 200 metres within the prescribed assessment conditions. Use the detailed skill sequence on this page as a preparation guide, while following the current instructions of an accredited SwimSafer instructor and assessor.
Assessment and e-certificate
Sport Singapore states that successful completion of the relevant online theory quiz and practical assessment is required for an e-certificate. Assessment readiness must be validated by an accredited SwimSafer instructor; participants should not be registered before they can safely perform the required competencies.
How to register
Primary-school participants can ask their school about its SwimSafer arrangements. Families may also register privately through a SportSG-accredited SwimSafer instructor. Registration route, lesson schedule, assessment venue and fees can differ by provider.
